Bab Sebta: 56 kg of Chira Seized – Customs

Fnideq – Customs and police officers at the Bab Sebta crossing point seized 56 kg of cannabis resin locally known as ‘chira’ from a light vehicle on Saturday, a customs source said.

During a joint routine operation, customs officials, in collaboration with the police, seized this quantity of drugs in the form of tablets concealed inside a hiding place set up between the fuel tank and the rear seats of a Spanish-registered vehicle, driven by a Moroccan living abroad, who was preparing to leave the national territory, the same source said.

The suspect was handed over to the judicial police for further investigation, under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office.
