Islamic Solidarity Games/Taekwondo: Nada Laaraj Offers Morocco its First Gold Medal

‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌​ ​ ‌​ ​ Konya – Morocco’s Nada Laaraj offered Morocco its first gold medal in taekwondo (-57 kg), while Omaima El Bouchti won the silver in the category of -53 kg, during the finals held Tuesday as part of the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games, taking place in Konya, Turkey.

In the final, Nada Laaraj won at the expense of the Turkish Hatice Kubra by 6-4, while her compatriot Omaima El Bouchti lost in the final to the Iranian Nahid Kiyanichandeh.

In taekwondo, Morocco is represented at the Islamic Solidarity Games by 11 athletes.
