Heat Wave Expected in Several Moroccan Provinces as of Friday – DGM

Rabat – A heat wave (40/46°C) is expected from Friday to Sunday in several Moroccan provinces, the Directorate General of Meteorology (DGM) announced on Wednesday.

Temperatures ranging between 40°C and 43°C are expected on Friday and Saturday in the provinces of Moulay Yacoub, Fez, Meknès, Taounate, Ouezzane, Khemisset, Sidi Slimane, Sidi Kacem, Fkih Ben Salah, Khouribga, Béni Mellal, Settat, Marrakech, Rehamna and El Kelaâ des Sraghna, the DGM said in an orange-level alert.

From Saturday to Sunday, temperatures ranging between 42°C and 46°C will be observed in Errachidia, Zagora, Tata, Taroudant, Assa-Zag, Es-Semara, and in the interior of the provinces of Essaouira, Guelmim, Boujdour, Aousserd and Oued Ed-Dahab, according to the same source.
