This visit was organized by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency in cooperation with the Office of the High Commissioner for Former Resistance Fighters and Members of the Liberation Army, as part of the celebration of the Revolution of the King and the People and of the Youth Day. It aims to introduce the Palestinian youth to the richness and various aspects of Morocco’s historical memory.
On this occasion, Hamid Mâaroufi, Director of Systems and of Historical Studies at the High Commission, said the visit was an opportunity to bring the young Palestinian generations closer to the struggle for independence of the Moroccan people and the milestones of the fight for the liberation of the country.
For Ahmed Atoune, a child taking part in the 13th summer camps for the benefit of children of Al-Quds, the stay in Rabat allowed him to visit the Mohammed V Mausoleum and the National Space for Historical Memory, Resistance and Liberation, and to learn more about the history of the Revolution of the King and the people.
Yasmine Ayad, another participant in the summer camps, expressed her joy at visiting Morocco and several historical sites in Tangier, Asilah and Chefchaouen.
This visit to the National Space for Historical Memory has brought the children closer to the suffering and sacrifices of the Moroccan people in their struggle against colonialism.
The 13th edition of the summer camps for the benefit of children of Al-Quds is held from August 12 to 25 by the Agency Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif in partnership with the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee.
