This agreement was expressed in a joint declaration adopted on Thursday after talks in Rabat between the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita, and the German Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany, Annalena Baerbock, currently on a working visit to the Kingdom.
The two parties reiterated their commitment to contribute to the strengthening of this partnership at all levels, building on all the achievements and positions expressed in the EU-Morocco Joint Declaration of June 2019 establishing a Euro-Moroccan partnership for shared prosperity.
The two ministers stressed the importance of continuing to finalize the addendum of the EU-Morocco Joint Declaration, reads the Joint Declaration, which stresses that “the two partners call, also, to accelerate the implementation of flagship projects identified for the benefit of Morocco, under the New Agenda for the Mediterranean and its Economic and Investment Plan.”
Rabat and Berlin welcomed, on this occasion, “the upcoming adoption of the Green Plan between Morocco and the EU which will provide a framework for the development of enhanced cooperation between the two parties.
In addition, Germany reaffirmed the place of Morocco as an essential partner of the European Union and Germany in North Africa and Africa in general, and as a link between North and South, expressing its support for strengthening the Morocco-EU Strategic Partnership.
For its part, Morocco reiterated the importance of the long-standing privileged partnership with the EU and considers Germany an essential European partner.
