Tunisian President’s Reception of Polisario Leader Undermines Ties between Moroccans, Tunisians – AMPCC

Rabat – The Moroccan Association of Communal Council Presidents (AMPCC) stressed that the Tunisian president’s official welcome to the leader of the polisario militias within the framework of the 8th TICAD Summit is an irresponsible step that undermines historical ties between the two brotherly Moroccan and Tunisian peoples.

In a statement, the association condemns and strongly denounces this deplorable paradigm shift that the Tunisian president wants to bring to the legacy of sincere brotherhood uniting the two peoples.

Expressing its pride in the depth of fraternal ties that have marked throughout history relations between the two peoples, the association maintains that this irresponsible step of the Tunisian president does not honor Tunisia and its people, as it harms the bilateral historical relations, in an attempt to undermine the territorial integrity of the Kingdom.

This is a serious slip that comes at a time when the peoples of the Maghreb region aspire to cope with attempts to crumble and to consolidate the ranks, especially since there is an international awareness of the legitimate rights of Morocco on all its territory, concludes the statement.
