The meeting, which was also attended by the Minister of Tourism, Handicraft, Social Economy and Solidarity, Fatima Zahra Ammor and the Director General of the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) Adel El Fakir, was an opportunity to review the various aspects of the partnership and cooperation between the Ministry, through the ONMT, and the TUI Group and to examine the means of strengthening the investment opportunities for the German group in the Kingdom
During this meeting, Akhannouch has highlighted the efforts made by Morocco to revive the tourism and air transport sectors in the Kingdom, which were impacted during the pandemic period, through urgent measures which have enabled the tourism sector to regain its equilibrium, Morocco having been able to welcome during the months of June and July 2022, some 3.2 million tourists.
The tourism sector has also been able to recover 100% of tourist arrivals in Morocco compared to the same period in 2019, a trend also recorded by the air transport sector, which has gradually recovered its good health.
For his part, Ebel reiterated “the total confidence” of the TUI group in the destination Morocco, affirming the full readiness of the group to strengthen its presence and investment in the Kingdom.
It should be noted that the group TUI, world leader in entertainment, tourism and travel, which owns chains of hotels, travel agencies and airlines, has a series of investments in the tourism sector in Morocco.
