Directors General, Directors for Civil Protection of ICDO Member Countries to Convene in Rabat

Rabat – The International Civil Defense Organisation (ICDO) and the Directorate General of Civil Protection are organizing the 6th session of the meeting of Directors General and Directors for Civil Protection of African countries on September 13-14 in Rabat.

In a statement on Monday, the Ministry of Interior notes that this session is held as part of the resolutions of the 5th meeting of African Directors for Civil Protection, held on September 28- 30, 2021, in Lome, Togo.

“Its objective is to offer participating countries the opportunity to exchange on the implementation of various recommendations from previous meetings that contribute to the upgrading of civil protection structures of African countries and the promotion of cooperation between these countries,” according to the same source.

This meeting also aims to set up the first steps of an African regional strategy based on sub-regional strategies for the creation and sharing of resources and tools for risk management.

This event will see the participation of Directors General and Directors for Civil Protection of African countries members of the ICDO, in addition to the General Secretariat of the Arab Interior Ministers Council, represented by its Rabat-based Office of Civil Protection and Environmental Affairs, the statement concludes.
