Continental Futsal Championship Thailand 2022: Morocco Goes to Semi-Finals

Bangkok – The national futsal team beat its Mozambican counterpart (4-2), Monday in Bangkok, on the second day of the continental Futsal championship 2022, securing a spot in the semi-finals.

The Atlas Lions dominated the game from start to finish and opened the score thanks to a brilliant pass from Achraf Saoud to Driss Raïss El Fani.

Hicham Dguig’s boys scored their second goal, again through Driss Raïss El Fani. A few minutes before the end of the first half, Mozambique scored its first goal.

In the second half, Soufiane El Mesrar netted the 3rd goal for the Moroccan team and Youssef Jawad added to the score with a 4th goal.

The Mozambican team scored its 2nd goal shortly before the end of the game.

The national team is in group A alongside Thailand, the host country of the competition, and Mozambique. Group B includes Iran, Vietnam and Finland.

Morocco’s first game in the competition ended with a (2-2) tie against host country Thailand.

This tournament is organized by Thailand in preparation for the Asian Futsal Championship, scheduled from September 25 to October 20 in Kuwait.
