Morocco is “very advanced” in the field of decentralization and local development, the Central African minister stressed in a statement to the press at the end of his meeting with Interior Minister Abdelouafi Laftit, affirming that his country wants to draw inspiration from this Moroccan experience.
He also stressed that decentralization, local development, regionalization and deconcentration are the main challenges currently facing the Central African Republic, indicating that the Moroccan experience would help his country in the holding of the local elections, scheduled for next January.
“A country can only develop through decentralization,” said the Central African minister, welcoming the active participation of women in all organs of Morocco’s democratic institutions.
Yapandé also expressed his government’s gratitude to HM King Mohammed VI for the special attention paid by the Sovereign to cooperation with the Central African Republic, welcoming the quality of bilateral relations. “Morocco has invested a lot for the Central African Republic.”
In this regard, he recalled Morocco’s assistance, which sent a large contingent in the framework of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA), which contributed to the stabilization of the country.
