Speaking at the ceremony to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Tangier plant, the minister said that the launch of production of the first electric vehicle on the lines of Tangier illustrates the attractiveness of the Moroccan platform, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI.
“We have the means and skills to achieve our goal and meet our challenge,” said Mezzour, stressing in this sense that Morocco now has the most competitive renewable energy in the world.
“We have very specific ambitions to accompany the electrification of mobility. This is a new stage for the next ten years, where the achievements will be more important and more ambitious, and where the market share of Morocco will be increasingly preponderant in the automotive industry,” he added.
In this regard, the minister said that Morocco is now a base of innovative and competitive ecological pyramid for industrial pavilions in the world, stressing the need to strengthen and expand this base, to further enhance the attractiveness of the Moroccan platform.
He also noted that the Tangier plant, which is the result of the enlightened vision of HM King Mohammed VI to make Morocco an automotive platform at the international level, has manufactured more than 2.3 million vehicles in 10 years for more than 70 destinations around the world, noting that this plant is the catalyst for the transformation of the Moroccan automotive industry.
“We celebrate today a successful partnership that opens up strategic and promising horizons,” said the minister, noting that Renault reinforces, once again, its role as a driving force in the development of the automotive industry in Morocco, an industry that is making its transition to electrification and sustainable mobility in safe steps.
