Minister-President of Brussels Praises Solidity of Morocco-Belgium Historic Ties

Rabat – The Minister-President of the Brussels-Capital Region, Rudi Vervoort, praised on Wednesday the “depth” and “strength” of the long-standing relations between Morocco and Belgium, calling for increased cooperation with the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region.

“Morocco and Belgium have a common desire to consolidate and deepen their bilateral relations through the exchange of visits and experiences and coordination on various issues of common interest,” the Belgian official told the press on the sidelines of the signing ceremony of a framework partnership agreement between the Brussels-Capital Region and the council of the region of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra.

Describing as “historic” the relations between the two countries, Vervoort called to further strengthen the proactive cooperation between Brussels-Capital and Rabat-Salé-Kenitra through the exchange of visits to share best practices, build on the successful experiences of both parties and address common challenges.

The official called for increased cooperation in social development, culture, urban mobility, and the inclusion of people with disabilities and youth.

The signing of this agreement, he said, comes in the wake of upgrading cooperation protocols through the implementation of tangible measures for the benefit of the population of both regions.

This is a process widely supported by the leaders of the two regions, Vervoort added, welcoming the signing of the framework agreement that is part of the continued cooperation and partnership between the two regions.
