African Junior and Cadet Weightlifting Championship: Morocco Earns 99 Medals, including 35 Gold

Casablanca – Morocco has clinched 99 medals, including 35 gold, 47 silver and 17 bronze, during the African Junior and Cadet Weightlifting Championship, held from 23 to 30 September in Casablanca.

The junior national team ranked first, with 21 medals, ahead of the Libyan and Cameroonian teams.

The women’s national team was also ranked first in the junior and cadet categories with a total of 54 medals (21 gold, 28 silver and 5 bronze), followed by the Egyptian and Tunisian teams.

As for cadets, they won 24 medals, finishing second behind the Libyan team.

Morocco participated in this continental sporting event with 37 junior and cadet athletes (20 on the men’s team and 17 on the women’s team).

This championship has seen the participation of weightlifters representing Morocco, Libya, Cameroon, Tunisia, South Africa, Mauritius and Uganda.
