Premiere in Buenos Aires of Documentary ‘Gauchos of The Sea, African Territory’ by Azoulay Brothers

Buenos Aires – The documentary “Gauchos of the Sea, African Territory”, produced by brothers Joaquin and Julian Azoulay, premiered Tuesday night at the Coliseum Theater in Buenos Aires.

The documentary, which has won international awards, is the fifth work of the two brothers of Moroccan origin, whose great-grandparents emigrated to Argentina 120 years ago.

The documentary tells the story of the journey, with a strong anthropological accent, that the two brothers made during 22 months along the coasts of the African continent, on board a German-made military ambulance of 1985 transformed into a caravan.

The first stopover in Africa was naturally Morocco, more precisely Tangier where their great grandparents came from and which hosts them with hospitality and affection.

The breathtaking images shot in Morocco showcase magnificent landscapes that reproduce the trilogy of sea, mountain and desert, in addition to the traces of a thousand-year-old history, an ancient civilization and an authentic culture.

In a statement to the Moroccan news channel M24, Joaquin Azoulay said that “when we set foot in Morocco, we felt a sense of pride in visiting the country of our fathers and grandfathers, and the cities of Tangier and Tetouan where we come from”.

Joaquin expressed his immense joy for the warm welcome in all the cities and villages crossed during this journey in Moroccan land that lasted about three months.

His brother and himself, passionate about surfing, found their passion in the city of Dakhla, where they enjoyed its beautiful beaches that are frequented by fans of this sport from around the world.

For Joaquin, visiting 24 African countries allowed them to become familiar with the mosaic of colors and cultures that make up Africa, in addition to the sense of humor and hospitality that are a distinctive character of Africans.
