Morocco Determined to Contribute to Success of 5+5 Dialogue Action Plan on Research and Innovation (Minister)

Nouakchott – Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, Abdellatif Miraoui stressed the determination of Morocco to contribute to the success of the action plan of the 5+5 Dialogue on research, innovation and higher education, whose fifth ministerial conference was held Tuesday in Nouakchott.

In a speech read on his behalf by Sanaa Zabbakh, Director of Cooperation and Partnership, the Minister expressed the adherence of the Ministry to the Action Plan 2022-2024, annexed to the Joint Declaration signed on the sidelines of this conference and inked by the member countries of the 5+5 Dialogue.

He emphasized in this sense the importance of optimizing the resources and capabilities of partner countries, research and innovation to consolidate stability and peace and achieve joint and sustainable development at the economic, social and environmental levels.

Miraoui highlighted the considerable progress made by Morocco in the field of establishing the foundations of sustainable development at different levels.

He mentioned the achievements in the fields of industry, agriculture, health and renewable energy.

These areas in which Moroccan scientific and technological research contributes effectively, which places the Kingdom in fourth place in Africa in terms of the number of scientific research published, he added.

He noted that the contribution of the sector of higher education, scientific research and innovation is not limited to the national context, but extends to the sharing of knowledge and experiences with all African countries, in accordance with the vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI advocating the strengthening and diversification of forms and areas of South-South cooperation.
