Royal Navy Rescues 182 Illegal Migration Candidates over Past 3 Days

Rabat – Royal Navy coastguards rescued 182 candidates for irregular migration over the past three days (October 10-12), including women and children, mostly coming from sub-Saharan Africa.

These candidates, who attempted these perilous crossings aboard makeshift boats, kayaks, jet-skis, surfboards and even swimming, were rescued before receiving first aid on board the Royal Navy Units, said military sources.

The rescued candidates were brought back safe and sound to the nearest ports of the Kingdom and then handed over to the Royal Gendarmerie for the usual administrative procedures, the same sources specified.
