Daejeon – Morocco was elected, Friday, to two key positions within the organization United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG-World), on the occasion of the 7th World Congress of the international organization, which took place from 10 to 14 October in the South Korean city of Daejeon with the participation of delegations from 140 countries.

The mayor of Rabat, Asmaa Rhlalou, was elected treasurer of the organization, while Mohamed Sefiani, mayor of the city of Chefchaouen, was elected Special Envoy of UCLG-World to the United Nations for food systems.

The two officials were also appointed members of the presidency of UCLG-World, the highest decision-making body of the organization.
