Morocco-Burundi: Common Will to Establish More Intense Economic Cooperation

Rabat – Minister of Economy and Finance Nadia Fettah and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation of the Republic of Burundi Albert Shingiro affirmed, on Tuesday in Rabat, their common will to strengthen economic ties between the two countries and to establish a more intense economic cooperation.

During a meeting between Fettah and Shingiro, who is on a three-day working visit to the Kingdom, the two parties welcomed the excellent relations, cooperation and friendship that have united Morocco and the Republic of Burundi for decades, the Ministry of Economy and Finance said in a statement.

On this occasion, the two ministers reiterated the commitment of both parties to intensify efforts to boost business relations between Morocco and Burundi in various areas, including infrastructure development, social housing, fertilizers and the exploitation and development of mineral resources, the same source added.

Similarly, the two officials agreed to intensify cooperation in technical assistance by promoting the exchange of experiences and best practices, especially in the areas of mobilization of external funding and monitoring of public investment.

At the end of this meeting, Fettah and Shingiro “reaffirmed their willingness to work together to strengthen cooperation between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Burundi,” the statement concluded.
