Baitas, who was speaking at a press conference after the weekly meeting of the Governing Council, specified that the objective is to make a comparison, in terms of consumption, between the months of November and December 2022 and the same period of the previous year, adding that details on the modalities of granting this reward will be given later.
The Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, Leila Benali, had insisted, during a presentation to the Governing Council, on the absolute necessity of reducing energy consumption, indicating that her department had launched an unprecedented initiative in this regard as part of an energy efficiency awareness campaign.
This initiative consists of encouraging the end consumer to reduce their bill during the months of November and December 2022 in exchange for a reward, during 2023, proportional to the energy saved compared to the same period of the previous year, he explained.
