Morocco’s Ramzi Boukhiam Qualifies for World Surf League Championship Tour 2023

Casablanca – The surfer Ramzi Boukhiam became the first Moroccan to qualify for the 2023 Championship Tour, the most prestigious surfing competition in the world, at the end of the Haleiwa Challenge, 7th and final stage of the Challengers Series of the World Surf League (WSL), held in Hawaii.

Boukhiam, 1st Moroccan and Arab to integrate the world elite of surfing, is thus propelled to the rank of the greatest champions of this sport by integrating this prestigious circuit, according to a statement.

“It’s been ten years since I started my career in Pro Junior and I participate in the WSL Qualifier series. This proves that if you work hard, you can still make it. I had some good results this year, but you never know,” he said.

“I am very proud of the work I have done and to show the new Moroccan generation that we have what it takes to succeed. The message I would like to send is that we must always keep hope and believe. I did it for me and for all the young Moroccan surfers,” added the Moroccan surfing champion.
