Morocco Particpates in 2nd International Conference on Public Health in Africa

Kigali – The 2nd International Conference on Public Health in Africa opened Tuesday in Kigali, the Rwandan capital, with the participation of Morocco.

The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Khalid Ait Taleb, represents the Kingdom at this international event organized, from on December 13-15 , by the African Union (AU) and the African Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, in cooperation with the Rwandan Ministry of Health and the Biomedical Centre of Rwanda.

The conference, which is attended by experts, researchers, government officials and policy makers in the field of health and social protection, aims to examine the health challenges facing Africa and ways to build more resilient and sustainable continental health systems.

The event also aims to establish a unique platform for African researchers and experts, as well as other stakeholders, to exchange visions and research findings in the field of public health, especially in the wake of a new era of enhanced scientific cooperation and innovation across the continent.

The Conference will focus on how to create more resilient health systems, capable of responding more effectively to future health crises and address chronic communicable diseases.

The opening ceremony of the Conference was marked by speeches from the Rwandan Prime Minister, Edouard Ngirente, the Minister of Health, Yvan Butera, as well as a video address from the Director General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
