Trade: 79% of Wholesalers Expect Stable Sales in Q4-2022 (Statistics Office)

Casablanca – The expectations of 79% of wholesalers show a stability of the global volume of sales for the 4th quarter of 2022 and a decrease according to 12% of them, says the High Commission for Planning (HCP).

This development would be mainly attributable, on the one hand, to the expected decline in sales in the “Wholesale of food products, beverages and tobacco” and “Wholesale of other industrial equipment” and, on the other hand, the increase in sales in “Other specialized wholesale” and “Wholesale of raw agricultural products and live animals”, explains the HCP in a note on the results of the quarterly business surveys of the sectors of non-financial market services and wholesale trade.

The orders expected for the 4th quarter 2022 would be a normal level according to 82% of business leaders and below normal according to 10% of them, said the same source, adding that employment would be stable according to 93% of wholesalers.

In the 3rd quarter of 2022, sales of the wholesale sector on the local market would be stable according to 65% of wholesalers and would increase according to 20%.
