Manufacturing Industries Excluding Oil Refining: Production Index Increases by 3.1% in Q3-2022 (Statistics Office)

Casablanca – The production index of manufacturing industries excluding oil refining increased by 3.1% in the 2022 third quarter compared to the same period of 2021, according to the High Commission for Planning (HCP).

This development is due in particular to the increase in the production index of the “automotive industry” of 21.7%, “food industries” of 8.6%, that of the “manufacture of tobacco products” of 18.8% and that of the “pharmaceutical industry” of 23.4%, said the HCP in a note.

It also results from the increase in the index of “manufacture of metal products” of 15.5%, that of the “leather industry and footwear” of 25.4%, that of “printing and reproduction of records” of 23.2%, that of the “wood industry” of 22.0% and that of “metallurgy” of 6.9%.

On the other hand, the index of “manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products” fell by 11.3%, “chemical industry” by 5.5%, “manufacture of electrical equipment” by 13.2%, “craft industry” by 6.7% and “paper and board” by 14.9%.
