Bahija Simou Contributes to Discovery of Forgotten Page of Moroccan-Korean History, Say Korean Officials

Rabat – Director of the Royal Archives, Bahija Simou, received, on Wednesday, the visit of the Korean vice minister of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, Jong-Jin Yoon, accompanied by his country’s ambassador in Rabat, Keeyong Chung, who expressed their thanks and gratitude for her contribution to the discovery of a forgotten page of the Moroccan-Korean history.

The two Korean officials praised, in this context, the invaluable contribution of Simou, as a specialist in military history, to make known the Moroccan fighters who contributed to the Korean War (1950-1953).

This discovery has made it possible to commemorate the memory of these Moroccan fighters and to write a shared history and a brotherhood of arms with Korea, which could only consolidate the relations between the two countries and open other horizons of exchanges and cooperation, said the Directorate of the Royal Archives.
