Morocco Confirms 78 New COVID-19 Cases over Past 24 Hours

Rabat – Morocco recorded 78 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection said on Saturday, adding that 113 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the same period.

A total of 24,917,458 people have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while the number of fully vaccinated people (1st and 2nd doses) has reached 23,418,097, the ministry pointed out in its daily COVID-19 bulletin, noting that 6,866,056 people have received the third dose of the vaccine, while 57,689 people have received the fourth dose.

According to the same source, the number of COVID-19 cases reported since the start of the outbreak of the virus rose to 1,271,244 while recoveries increased to 1,254,295, i.e. a recovery rate of 98.7%.

The new COVID-19 cases were recorded in the regions of Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (29), Grand Casablanca-Settat (26), Souss-Massa (05), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (04), Draa-Tafilalet (03), Marrakech-Safi (03), Fez-Meknes (02), Eastern region (02), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (02), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (01) and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (01).

As for coronavirus-related fatalities, their number remained at 16,294, with zero cases recorded in the last 24 hours.

The number of active cases stands at 655, with two severe or critical cases reported in the past 24 hours, for a total of 9 cases.
