Gov’t Council Adopts Draft Decree on Air Navigation Services

Rabat – The Government Council, meeting Thursday in Rabat under the chairmanship of the Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch, has approved the draft decree No. 2.22.191 on air navigation services.

Presented by the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Mohamed Abdeljalil, this project is part of the implementation of the provisions of Article 40.13 on civil aviation, the provisions of the Convention on Civil Aviation and the provisions of the Convention on International Civil Aviation, signed in Chicago in 1944, said the Minister Delegate for Relations with Parliament, Government Spokesman, Mustapha Baitas, during a press briefing held after the Council.

The draft aims to establish a regulatory framework for air navigation services ensuring the safety, regularity and efficiency of air navigation, as well as improving the overall performance of these services, added Baitas.

The provisions of this draft decree provide the conditions and procedures for the provision of air navigation services, the modalities of adoption of these services and their planning, the rules of the air and the rules of air navigation and their conditions of application, as well as the conditions and procedures for the establishment of facilities and equipment of air navigation services, their modification and maintenance, he said.

The draft decree No. 2.22.191 also sets the rules to improve the overall performance of air traffic management and air navigation services.
