Speaking at a press conference devoted to the 2022 annual review of the automotive market in Morocco, Bennani mentioned the complexity of the context of the past year marked by profound changes that caused the 8% decline in sales year-on-year.
On the total sales of the year, the share of private vehicles is 143,186 units, against 154,123 in 2021, for a share of light commercial vehicles (LCV) equivalent to 18,224 against 21,237 a year earlier, he said.
He emphasized that many events explain this downward trend, including the shortage of semiconductors, the disruption of global logistics, galloping inflation, rising hydrocarbon prices, as well as the contraction of local demand in the second half of 2022.
