The text of the decree, presented by the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Khalid Ait Taleb, is the result of the Ministry’s desire to review the organization and structure of its central administrative bodies and define their responsibilities, the Minister Delegate for Relations with Parliament, Government Spokesman, Mustapha Baitas, said at a press briefing after the Council of Government.
This draft decree has been prepared in accordance with the High Royal Directives for the establishment of a constructive drug policy that ensures the availability of essential medicines to achieve the priority programs of public health, and in harmony with the recommendations of national bodies and institutions, including the Competition Council and the Economic, Social and Environmental Council, said Baitas.
The same legal text aims to create a new directorate called “Directorate of supply of drugs and health products” which will be responsible for several missions, including the supply of health institutions in drugs and health products of high quality, he added.
