“Our position is firm on the issue of the Sahara and its Morocccaness, just as the integrity of Yemen is inviolable and can not be compromised,” said al-Barkani in a statement to the press after a meeting with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi Alami.
Visiting the Kingdom at the head of a large parliamentary delegation, the Yemeni official noted that the two countries “share a single concern, that of our territorial integrity, which is indivisible.”
He also expressed his gratitude to Morocco, King, government, people and parliament, “for its support to Yemen during its ordeal, which will remain engraved in the history of the two peoples,” noting that the age-old ties and deep relations between the two countries will experience in the future a remarkable development.
Regarding parliamentary relations, al-Barkani said that both parties will work to raise them to the highest levels in international fora or at the level of joint consultation, expressing the desire of the House of Representatives of Yemen to take advantage of the expertise and capabilities of the Moroccan Parliament.
