CAN-2025: George Weah Reaffirms ‘Full’ Support for Morocco’s Bid

Monrovia – Liberian president George Weah reaffirmed his “strong and fullest” support for Morocco’s bid to host the African Cup of Nations (CAN-2025), describing as “false and misleading” reports making rounds in some international media outlets that he supports the bid of Algeria

“Liberia fully endorses and supports Morocco’s bid to host CAF Nations Cup 2025,” said George Weah in a statement from his Executive, insisting that this commitment is cast in stone”.

Furthermore, the world soccer legend highlighted the “remarkable investments Morocco continues to put towards the development of football, which make them deserve a chance to host the biggest African Football Fiesta”.

He also welcomed the immense pride that Morocco has brought to Africa during the World Cup (Qatar-2022), while stressing that Africa must in turn honor the Kingdom by awarding it the organization of the CAN-2025.

President Weah said he has already begun campaigning for Morocco with football stakeholders around the continent.
