9th Sahraouiya Raid kicks Off in Dakhla

Dakhla – The 9th edition of the Sahraouiya Raid 2023 kicked off, Sunday in Dakhla, with the participation of women from different backgrounds, gathered around common causes.

Organized by the Lagon Dakhla association under the patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, this event, which will be held until February 11, promises wonder, solidarity and dedication to the humanitarian cause.

This 9th edition will highlight the actions taken to fight violence against women and children, as part of a campaign conducted on social networks under the sign of #breakfreewithSahraouiya.

On this occasion, Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, stressed that this event is an opportunity for Moroccan and foreign women “to excel and show the world that no difference exists between men and women,” adding that women can perform better than men in several areas.

This 9th edition is more than a sporting competition, added the minister, stressing that it is also a cultural activity given the different origins of participants, which is likely to contribute to the influence of this region and Hassanie culture more particularly.

For her part, president of the Lagon Dakhla association, Laila Aouach, said that about 75 women of ten nationalities participated in the launch of this edition, noting that in addition to its purely sporting aspect, this event is a humanitarian event “par excellence” in view of the presence of many associations and personalities who defend major causes, including Rokhaya Diallo and Emilie Gomis.
