IKEA Inaugurates Department Store in Northern Morocco

M’diq – IKEA, the world leader in home furnishing and decoration solutions, inaugurated on Tuesday its second department store in Morocco, IKEA Cabo, within the commercial zone developed by Tanger Med Zones (TMZ), located on the road between Tetouan and Mdiq (North), near Cabo Negro.

The inaugural ceremony, chaired by the General Manager of IKEA Morocco, Kuwait and Jordan, and CEO of SYH Morocco, Marino Maganto, took place in the presence of business partners, elected officials and local community actors.

Participants were invited to a guided tour of the store, one of the most modern of the brand in the world, the first to deploy the new IKEA store concept including new exhibition, planning and catering areas.

With a total area of more than 18,000 square meters, including more than 16,400 square meters of retail area, the new IKEA Cabo provides access to a world of inspiration, ideas and affordable home furnishing solutions for everyone.

Realized for an investment of 400 million dirhams, the IKEA Cabo store has created 500 direct jobs and 1,000 indirect jobs.

The opening of the second IKEA department store in Morocco illustrates the brand’s consolidation approach in the Kingdom where it has been committed to long-term investment since the inauguration of the first IKEA in Zenata in 2016.
