House of Advisors: 7th International Parliamentary Forum on Social Justice Kicks Off

Rabat – The 7th edition of the International Parliamentary Forum on Social Justice kicked off Tuesday in Rabat under the theme “Human Capital: a fundamental lever of social justice”.

Initiated by the House of Advisors in partnership with the Economic, Social and Environmental Council (EESC), the inaugural session of this edition was marked by the presence of speaker of the House of Advisors, Enaam Mayara, speaker of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi Alami and members of the government in addition to president of the EESC, Ahmed Rida Chami.

The choice of the theme “human capital” for this edition, held under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI and in celebration of the World Day of Social Justice (February 20), is part of the continuous institutional interaction of the House of Advisors with the enlightened royal directives on issues related to social justice.

It is also part of the accompaniment of the implementation project of the new development model, which supports the principles and values of freedom, social justice, equality and solidarity.

On this occasion, the House of Advisors stressed the importance of strengthening human capital since the citizen represents an important wealth and an essential contribution to sustainable development, which Morocco seeks to achieve through the constitutional enshrinement of the social dimension and the serious adherence to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (2000-2015), as well as the Sustainable Development Goals (2016-2030), noting that significant progress has been made in this area, particularly with regard to the generalization of basic schooling and the expansion of health services.
