Current Teaching Mode Requires Radical Change in University’s Conception (Minister)

Rabat – The current teaching mode requires a radical change in our conception of the university, the Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, Abdellatif Miraoui, said Tuesday in Rabat.

During the 7th edition of the International Parliamentary Forum on Social Justice, organized under the patronage of HM King Mohammed VI around the theme “human capital: essential lever for social justice”, Miraoui said in a presentation during the second session of the forum, held under the theme “Challenges of improving education and teaching system”, it is necessary to rethink the education system and mitigate the university dropout which reaches 50% today.

He stressed the need to enshrine the values of transparency and equal opportunity and establish scientific research in line with the requirements of development and labor market, including improving the quality of education and performance.

In this sense, Miraoui recalled the launch of the National Plan to accelerate the transformation of the ecosystem of higher education, scientific research and innovation (PACTE ESRI 2030), aimed at mobilizing skilled human capital, explaining that it is an integrated and complementary educational reform based on a new guidance system, a teaching method 4.0, the encouragement of exchanges, employability and self-entrepreneurship and training for life.
