EU Commissioner’s Visit to Morocco Reflects High-Level Cooperation on Common Challenges (US Analyst)

Washington – The working visit to Rabat of the European Commissioner for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement, Olivér Várhelyi, reflects the high-level cooperation and equal partnership between the European Union (EU) and Morocco to address common challenges, U.S. analyst Calvin Dark said.

This visit marked by a series of high-level meetings and important cooperation programs attests to effective diplomacy that transcends mere statements, Dark told MAP, adding that it is about action and a commitment to addressing common challenges.

Ensuring security, promoting economic prosperity and managing migration are challenges that require high-level cooperation and equal partnerships between Morocco and the EU, noted the director and co-founder of the RC Communications think tank based in the US federal capital.

Recalling that one of the extremely important themes raised during the visit of the European Commissioner relates to security, the analyst said that under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Morocco has demonstrated its commitment to stability especially in the region.

Morocco’s role in ensuring stability in its neighborhood also protects the EU’s interests, he stressed.
