Official 3* Show Jumping Competition of Royal Guard: Jad Guerraoui Wins HM King Mohammed VI Grand Prix in Tetouan

Tetouan – Jad Guerraoui, riding “Virtuoso Des Flagues”, won the Grand Prix His Majesty King Mohammed VI, as part of the official show jumping competition 3* of the Royal Guard, held on Sunday at the Hipica quarry in Tetouan.

During this competition, organized by the Royal Guard, under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, Jad Guerraoui took the first place after completing the course in 33 sec 71/100.

The second place went to Ghali Boukaa, riding “A Kyss”, who clocked 34 sec 25/100, while the 3rd position was also occupied by Jad Guerraoui with “Empire VDV Z” (39 sec 35/100).

At the end of this event, president of the Royal Moroccan Federation of Equestrian Sports (FRMSE), Moulay Abdellah Alaoui, accompanied by Major General Abdelaziz Chatar, Commander of the Royal Guard, and the wali of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region, Mohamed Mhidia, proceeded to the awarding of prizes to the riders who won the first three places, in the presence of civil and military personalities.

In a statement to MAP, Jad Guerraoui expressed his joy at winning the first Grand Prix His Majesty King Mohammed VI in his professional career, stressing that he aspires to win more titles and awards at the national and international levels, with a view to realizing his dream of participating in the Olympics and winning one of the medals.

For his part, Major Mohammed Khouny of the Royal Guard said that this official competition of show jumping 3 *, which took place from May 5 to 7, has seen the participation of the most prominent riders of national equestrian clubs affiliated to the FRMSE.

“We express our deep appreciation and gratitude to HM King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, for the special interest of the Sovereign in the organization of this sporting event,” he said.

A total of 95 riders on approximately 170 horses competed for the various prizes in this competition.

The program included 19 events with various crossing options of varying difficulty, including those reserved for the cadet, junior, senior and amateur categories.
