Morocco Has ‘Great’, ‘Real’ Chances in Hosting 2025 AFCON – Togolese Journalist

Lomé – Morocco’s chances of hosting the African Cup of Nations (AFCON 2025) are “great and real”, say Togolese journalists specialized in this field.

According to Franck Nunyama, editor-in-chief of Sport FM in Lomé, Morocco has great chances to win the organization of AFCON 2025 before the candidacies of Algeria, South Africa, Zambia and the joint bid of Nigeria-Benin.

“The chances of Morocco to host the AFCON 2025 are great and real, because today throughout Africa, Morocco remains a reference in terms of sports infrastructure, especially in football,” he told MAP.

The Togolese sports journalist stressed that Morocco, which has already hosted major competitions, is a favorite among the candidates selected to host the CAN 2025, recalling that “Morocco is also a candidate for the World Cup 2030.

According to him, there is no doubt that the Kingdom will be designated by the apex body of African football to host the 35th edition of this great continental festival. “Today, there is no doubt that Morocco remains the overwhelming favorite to host this CAN 2025,” he said.

“Today, Morocco remains, in my opinion, the greatest country of football in Africa in relation to what this country was able to achieve in the last World Cup in Qatar, playing for the first time as an African team a semi-final of the competition, eliminated by France, “he said.

“It is a great country of football where training is well organized with a training center of reference that bears the name of HM King Mohammed VI with a significant investment. I think that Moroccan football has been on the rise in Africa for a long time,” he said.
