American Jewish Committee Briefed on Development Dynamics in Dakhla-Oued Eddahab

Dakhla – Members of a delegation of the American Jewish Committee were briefed on Thursday in Dakhla on the dynamics of development in the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region and the projects launched in all fields.

On this occasion, the members of this delegation, led by the head of the Political Affairs Department of the American Jewish Committee (AJC), Jason F. Isaacson, held a meeting with the chairman of the Regional Council, El Khattat Yanja, during which they reviewed the investment opportunities and the various development projects carried out or underway in the region. They also learned about the role of this elected body in the management of local affairs.

In a statement to the press, Isaacson stressed that this meeting served as an occasion to learn about the development process in the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, adding that emphasis was placed on the territorial integrity of the Kingdom, “which has always been supported and defended by the American Jewish Committee”, considered one of the partners of the Kingdom of Morocco.

He said that the level of development that the members of the American Jewish Committee noted upon their arrival in Dakhla clearly reflects the wisdom of HM King Mohammed VI, who is working to consolidate the foundations of development in the region, especially in the industrial sector.

For his part, Yanja noted that this meeting was an opportunity to address the development that the region is experiencing in various fields, as well as the new development model of the Southern Provinces launched by HM King Mohammed VI in 2015.

Discussions also focused on the key productive sectors of the region’s economy, such as tourism, agriculture, sea fishing, renewable energy and infrastructure, Yanja continued, highlighting HM the King’s vision to turn the region into a real economic hub attractive to investors from all over the world.
