Delegation of British MPs ‘Impressed’ by Level of Development in Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra

Laayoune – Members of a delegation of British Conservative MPs from the House of Lords, on a working visit to Morocco, said, Thursday in Laayoune, that it is “impressed” by the level of development in the Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra region and the projects launched in all areas.

This visit has allowed to learn about and see the dynamics of socio-economic development in the region, said the British MPs, after talks with elected officials and the director of the Regional Investment Center (CRI).

In a statement to the press, the MP Lord Stuart Polak, who traveled for the first time in the city of Laayoune, noted that this visit allowed members of the delegation to learn about the “impressive” level of development in the southern provinces.

Polak also stressed that this visit aims to learn about the investment opportunities offered by this region, especially in the fields of energy and agriculture.

After seeing firsthand the quality of infrastructure, investment opportunities and economic assets that abound in the region, he said that this visit “will allow British MPs to get a clear idea so they can transmit to their fellow citizens the reality of development and the significant potential enjoyed by this region ».

For his part, the MP Lord Alastair Colin Leckie Campbell said that the delegation is “very impressed” by the major projects carried out in this region.

“This region has a strong commercial potential especially in terms of export and import, since it is an entry point for products from different countries of the world,” he said.
