The framework agreement was signed by president of the Dakhla Oued Eddahab region, El Khettat Yanja, and president of the region of Tonkpi, Abdellah Albert Toikeusse Mabri.
Tonkpi, one of Côte d’Ivoire’s largest regions, is located in the extreme west in the mountain district. It covers an area of 12 284 km2. It is bordered to the north by the Bafing region, to the east by the Worodougou and Haut-Sassandra regions, to the south by the Cavally and Guémon regions, and to the west by the Republics of Guinea and Liberia.
The signing of this framework agreement comes from the interest granted by both parties to the development of exchanges, partnership and crossing of interests, as well as the concern to establish a framework of cooperation to promote common objectives on the basis of a homogeneous, equal and sustainable synergy.
It is also motivated, according to the promoters of this initiative, by the need to improve cooperation in the areas of attractiveness of the territories.
Concluded for a period of three years renewable by tacit agreement, the framework agreement is intended to facilitate and intensify relations cooperation in specific areas of common interest, likely to interest both parties who will be able to associate the assistance of any other institution likely to make a desired contribution to the realization of cooperation projects, within the framework of this agreement.
