Separatists’ Attempt to Hinder Development in Morocco’s Southern Provinces Fails – Paraguayan Expert

Asunción – Polisario separatists have suffered a “bitter failure in their attempt to hinder the march of development in the Southern Provinces” of Morocco, as evidenced by the Tarascon Court’s ruling condemning the Confédération Paysanne, a French trade union organization used in judicial harassment against the Morocco-EU agricultural agreement, said Paraguayan political analyst Ignacio Martinez.

“The Tarascon court’s ruling (…) deals a heavy blow to the polisario and its spokespersons in France, but also to their Algerian mentor,” added the Paraguayan writer and journalist in a statement to MAP, believing that the decision serves as international recognition of the Moroccanness of the Sahara.

According to Ignacio Martinez, the ruling is all the more relevant as it comes just a few days after another judicial setback to the separatists by the London Court of Appeal, which at the end of May irrevocably dismissed the appeal by the pro-separatist NGO “WSC” against a previous decision by the Administrative Court, rejecting its application to challenge the association agreement linking Morocco to the United Kingdom

“From South America, in particular the Republic of Paraguay, we applaud this decision and call for the promotion of trade in favor of the development and progress of Morocco’s southern provinces,” he said.
