Led by the representative of the Migration Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, the delegation included representatives from the pilot regions involved in the project, namely the Oriental, Souss-Massa, and Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima.
The delegation, which took part in the event at the invitation of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), also included the heads of the MS2 and ES-Maroc associations, the representative of the UN Development Program (UNDP) in Morocco, and the two focal points of the IOM Morocco project.
The meeting aimed to showcase the results of the program by country and to share successful experiences that meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The M4SD project, financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation and implemented by IOM and UNDP, benefits eleven countries: Nepal, Ecuador, the Philippines, Moldavia, Jamaica, Kyrgyzstan, Senegal, Tunisia, Morocco, Serbia, and Bangladesh.
This project is part of the deployment of migration policies adopted by Morocco, which aim to give migrants access to essential services by integrating the migration dimension into sectoral strategies and planning documents, Salah Elaaboudi, Vice President of the Regional Council of the Oriental told MAP.
He added that the Moroccan regions’ best practices in health, employability, and governance received unanimous attention from the representatives of the participating countries.
