In a statement, the DGAPR stressed that “these individuals become furious every time the DGAPR responds to false information and untruths spread about it and demolishes them from top to bottom, even if some of them reach degrees of insanity that require no refutation, including the installation of a surveillance camera in a prisoner’s room! would there be anything to add after such madness?.”
After the DGAPR issued a statement denouncing the interference of the organization Reporters Sans Frontières (RSF) in the case concerning the detention conditions of inmate O. R, Fouad Abdelmoumni attacked the General delegation, denying it its right, and even its responsibility, to refute the blatant malicious fabrications of the aforementioned organization, and asserting RSF’s right to interfere in a purely Moroccan matter, even though the cases in which this prisoner is being prosecuted have nothing to do with freedom of opinion and expression, which the organization in question claims to be keen to protect,” added the same source.
The so-called Abdelmoumni not only forbade the General Delegation to respond to the fanciful allegations of this organization, which it would be more appropriate to call “propagandists without borders” due to the intensity of its interference in what does not concern it, but also gave himself the right to talk about everything, “including the feelings of compassion expressed in the Royal Message of condolences addressed to the family of the late Advisor to HM the King, Mohamed Moatassim!,” the statement stated.
By publicly inciting and lashing out against Morocco, and seeking by all means to instrumentalize foreign countries against their homeland, in a strange nostalgia for the time of colonial powers, who often called on traitors to facilitate their penetration into other people’s countries, before rejecting them afterwards, Abdelmoumni and those who follow his example have indeed been unmasked, according to the DGAPR.
The DGAPR’s communication strategy has defeated the purposes of Abdelmoumni and his ilk, leaving them no room, as in the past, to spread their nonsense, which has led to the loss of the business goodwill they had become accustomed to exploiting in the field of human rights, even to be discredited both before national public opinion and before international organizations, the General Delegation said.
The General Delegation will continue to communicate with public opinion in order to denounce all misinformation, lies and outbiding aimed at the penitentiary institution and the Kingdom’s human rights image, in all that concerns the penitentiary and rehabilitation sector, the statement concluded.
