Alert Bulletin: Heat Wave Expected in Various Moroccan Provinces

Rabat – The Directorate General of Meteorology (DGM) has issued alerts regarding an impending heat wave in various Moroccan provinces, as temperatures are expected to reach up to 47°C in some cities on Monday and Tuesday.

The provinces of Larache, Ouezzane, Kenitra, Sidi Kacem, Sidi Slimane, Khémisset, Salé, Skhirate-Témara, Benslimane, Berrechid, Settat, Sidi Bennour, Fquir ben Salah, El Kelaa des Sraghna, Rehamna, Marrakach, Taroudant, Guelmim, Tan-Tan, and Tata are expected to experience very hot weather, with temperatures ranging between 45 and 47°C, according to the red alert bulletin issued Monday by the DGM.

Cities and provinces such as Tangier-Assilah, Taounate, Moulay Yacoub, Fès, Meknès, Khouribga, Nouaceur, Médiouna, Safi, Youssoufia, Chichaoua, Beni Mellal, Essaouira, Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, Inezgane-Ait Melloul, Chtouka-Aït-Baha, Tiznit, Sidi Ifni, Assa-Zag, and Aousserd will experience temperatures ranging between 42 and 45°C, as mentioned in the DGM’s orange vigilance bulletin.

In Taza, Guercif, Sefrou, El Hajeb, Khénifra, Figuig, Errachidia, Zagora, Es-Semara, and Oued-Ed-Dahab, temperatures are expected to range between 39 and 42°C.

Rabat, Casablanca, Mohammedia, El Jadida, Jerrada, Oujda-Angad, Taourirt, Boulemane, and Ouarzazate will also experience hot weather with temperatures fluctuating between 36 and 39°C, according to the press release.
