Madrid – Equipment and Water Minister Nizar Baraka met on Monday in Madrid with the Spanish Minister of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, Raquel Sánchez Jiménez, to discuss the development of bilateral relations in the field of equipment and transport.

The meeting was an opportunity to highlight the progress made on the Strait of Gibraltar Fixed Link project, with the reactivation of the Joint Committee and the signing of the bilateral cooperation agreement that will link Europe and Africa.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to assess progress on the roadmap agreed at the last Joint Committee meeting and to discuss the next steps to be taken.

The Morocco-Spain fixed link project is one of the strategic projects included in the new roadmap adopted in April 2022 during the visit of Spanish Government President Pedro Sánchez to Morocco at the invitation of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

The meeting was attended by Moroccan Ambassador to Spain Karima Benyaich.
