Marrakech: Police Arrest Three People for Alleged Drugs Possession, Trafficking

Marrakech – Judicial Police in Marrakech arrested, on Thursday, three people, including a woman, aged between 41 and 44, for their allegedly possessing and trafficking drugs and psychotropic substances, said a security source.

The woman was arrested, in collaboration with the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), on a passenger bus from a northern city, the source added, specifying that 3,500 ecstasy tablets were discovered in their possession.

During the investigation, the police managed to identify her accomplices before arresting them in the municipality of Tassoultante (Marrakech), in possession of cannabis resin (locally known as ‘chira’), cocaine doses and 180 ‘Rivotril’ tablets, as well as an electronic scale and sums of money in dirhams, U.S. dollars and euros suspected of originating from this criminal activity, adds the same source.
