The project aims to expand access to healthcare services, thereby helping improve people’s well-being, particularly women living in rural or isolated areas.
The aim is to improve access to healthcare infrastructure (primary and secondary), modernize healthcare services by deploying innovative solutions that improve connectivity, and strengthen governance through better allocation of human and financial resources.

Implementation of this project will enable women’s and children’s care units to become operational at the new Guelmim regional hospital and the Fkih Ben Salah provincial hospital.
In addition, hospitals will be built and equipped in the targeted regions and provinces (construction of the Beni-Mellal Regional Hospital Center and the Azilal Provincial Hospital Center, and equipment for the Fkih Ben Salah Provincial Hospital Center), and hospitals in the targeted regions will be equipped with medical-technical platforms.
Remote sites will also be equipped with telemedicine and teleconsultation facilities, the staff of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection and the territorial health groups will be strengthened, and the number of graduates from higher institutes of nursing and health technology will be increased.
Morocco has made significant progress in improving health outcomes. Over the past two decades, the country has made considerable investments in the sector. Maternal and infant mortality and the coverage of key maternal and child health interventions have improved.
In 2018, the government committed to implementing the Health 2025 Plan, which aims to improve people’s access to quality healthcare.
When presenting the 2021-2026 Government Program to Parliament, the Head of Government announced that the most immediate priority was to strengthen the foundations of the social state through four reform imperatives, namely extending protection against health risks through the generalization of health insurance and pensions, creating a social assistance system targeted at the most vulnerable families, overhauling the health sector and reforming the public education system.
In support of this vision, the Program to support inclusive access to healthcare infrastructure has been developed in coordination with technical and financial partners, and in complementarity with other operations active in the healthcare sector.
