Throne Speech: Morocco Pragmatic Towards Palestinian Cause (Official at Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency)

Rabat – HM King Mohammed VI’s speech on Throne Day embodies Morocco’s pragmatic and realistic approach to the Palestinian cause, said the director in charge of the management of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency, Mohamed Salem Cherkaoui.

In a statement to MAP, Cherkaoui emphasized that the concept of “seriousness”, mentioned repeatedly in the royal speech, refers to the realism and pragmatism that characterize the action of the Sovereign, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, to defend the Palestinian cause through legal and diplomatic channels as well as actions with a socio-economic scope.

In His speech, HM the King devoted a section to the Kingdom of Morocco’s relations with the State of Palestine, a gesture of benevolence with a strong symbolic charge and an opportunity to reinforce the unchanging ties of Moroccans with the city of Al-Quds and its holy sites, noted Cherkaoui.

All the components of the Palestinian people highly appreciated this royal gesture, which reflects the strong and serious commitment to the Palestinian cause in international fora, he stressed.

Through their considerable contribution to the protection of Al-Quds and the preservation of its religious and civilizational heritage, Moroccans have become an essential part of the Palestinian social fabric, he underlined.

He noted that Morocco’s firm stance on the Palestinian people’s right to an independent state with Eastern Al-Quds as its capital means that the Kingdom of Morocco will continue to support its Palestinian brothers in their legitimate cause.

“Within the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency, we are working to implement the High Royal Orientations in favor of the Holy City and its inhabitants”, said Cherkaoui.

With a quarter of a century’s experience behind it, the Agency today embodies the ties uniting the Moroccan and Palestinian brothers through concrete, realistic programs that bring hope and strengthen the status of the Holy City.
