Francophonie Games: Moroccan Athletes’ Performance, Outcome of Hard Work, Seriousness and Self-sacrifice (Analyst)

Antananarivo – The outstanding performance of Moroccan athletes at the 9th edition of the Francophonie Games is no accident, but the result of seriousness, self-sacrifice and long-term work carried out by the Kingdom under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, said, on Monday in Antananarivo, Malagasy analyst and expert Marco Tsaradia.

“We’re not surprised by the great performances and quality of Moroccan athletes and players. This is the natural culmination of the Vision that His Majesty the King holds for Morocco, a wise, modernist and forward-looking Vision that aims to make the Kingdom shine throughout the world, not only in sport, but also in many other fields”, Tsaradia, also a member of parliament and president of the Association of former Madagascan students in Morocco, told MAP.

Recalling that at the Francophonie Games, which took place from July 28 to August 6 in Kinshasa, Morocco won 58 medals and topped the rankings at this sporting event, he explained that this feat is also the outcome of the modern and developed infrastructure of Morocco, a great country which has made investment in human resources, particularly young people, an absolute priority.

“Thanks to these and so many other achievements, the results of seriousness and painstaking effort, Morocco has become an example to follow not only in Africa, but the world over”, said the analyst, referring in this regard to the historic qualification of the Atlas Lionesses for the round of 16 at the FIFA Women’s World Cup, currently being held in Australia and New Zealand, and the great feat of the Atlas Lions who qualified for the semi-finals of the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

At the 9th edition of the Francophonie Games, Morocco won 58 medals, with 42 medals in athletics, 8 in judo, 5 in road cycling, 2 in wrestling and one in ball juggling.
