Women’s World Cup: the Atlas Lionesses’ Success Start of a New Era (Djiboutian media)

The Atlas Lionesses have accomplished a historic feat at this edition of the World Cup, hosted in Australia and New Zealand, evoking a sense of pride and admiration across the nation, highlights the newspaper in an article published on Wednesday.

Qualifying for the Round of 16 on their first World Cup participation, the Moroccan women have delivered some remarkable performances, noted the media outlet, adding that “their audacity and team spirit have helped to bring about a new look at women’s football in Morocco”. 

The participation of Morocco in the Women’s World Cup has significantly contributed to promoting gender equality in sports, emphasizes the author of the article, stressing that the remarkable performances of the Moroccan women players have sent a powerful message from Moroccan women, highlighting their talent and dedication just as much as their male counterparts. 

Citing the exceptional performance of the Moroccan team during the group stage against some of the top women’s football teams globally, the newspaper points out that the historic advancement to the second round of the tournament will rightly honor the Moroccan players and contribute to reshaping perceptions of women’s football in Morocco.
